A Toast to 71 Years: Recapping the Fiesta de Albariño’s Anniversary Celebration

The Fiesta de Albariño celebrated its 71st anniversary this year, welcoming over 150,000 revelers to Cambados to honor the world-class white wine on its native shores. The packed program was a feast for the senses and included four solid days of tastings, culinary excellence, and music and dancing beginning at noon each day with the party continuing until sunrise – from the original sound of Celtic bagpipes that recalled the ancient traditions of the area to international musicians and roving street bands.

The area’s proud winemakers and chefs served up the latest wine and food pairings, sourced from the freshest ingredients available from the green hills and open seas of this celebrated gourmet destination. The Túnel do Vino (“Wine Tunnel”) saw its 12th year at the Fiesta this year, showcasing 66 wineries and over 150 wines from the latest vintage in a variety of styles from sparkling to extended lees and barrel-aging and more. Each year, the Fiesta de Albariño celebrates the vibrant sights, sounds and flavors of Albariño’s homeland in Green Spain – cheers to another successful year!
