This year Spain’s Great Match New York moved to a new location—Mercado Little Spain in Hudson Yards. We had a blast with the team.

The José Andrés and Adría Brothers’ flagship was the ideal spot for one of the industry’s biggest events of the year, and Rías Baixas Wines was there in full force. Organized by Food and Wines from Spain, ICEX Spain Trade and Investment, the experience included a Grand Tasting where Rias Baixas showcased 11 Albariño wines in a variety of styles that paired perfectly with Little Mercado’s signature tapas. We also sponsored an educational seminar led by Master Sommelier Michael Meagher—Beyond the Grape, Discovering the Styles of Albariño from Rías Baixas—which delved into all aspects of the region including sub-regions, terroir, climate, history, winemaking techniques, and sustainability. Seminar attendees had the opportunity to taste a special range of 9 wines, including lees aged, bottle aged, use of local wild yeasts, sparkling and more, which highlighted Rías Baixas’ diversity and evolution.
