About

Our winery started as a family project. For over 100 years our family made a "house” wine. In 1998, my father Carlos Castro decided to make what had been a family tradition into a way of life.This is how Tomada de Castro (Carlos Castro), a small family winery located in the heart of the Rias Baixas, got its start. We own our own vineyards, which we know profoundly and work with great care to create distinctive wines. Our Albariños are a very important part of our family, and we love that audiences across the globe can enjoy them and appreciate the fruits of our labor.
