Attis is a family-owned winery founded in2000 by third generation wine growers. Owned by the Fariña family, father Robustiano provides years of experience to support his sons Baldomero andRobustiano, Jr. in their management of the vineyard, winery and business operations.
In order to enhance quality, in 2011 Attis inaugurated a new, modernized winery facility – and hired Jean-François Hébrard for technical advice and ecological cultivation inthe vineyards. These initiatives came into fruition with the 2012 vintage, encompassing all aspects of winemaking, spontaneous fermentation, aging on lees, and a reduction in sulfur usage.
The winery owns 12.3 acres of vineyards, with Albariño vinesranging from 5 to 40 years of age, planted on traditional trellises. The vineyards aredivided into more than 30 plots, ranging from 0. 21 to 1.2 acres in size, reaching up to 328 feet in altitude with views of the Atlantic.
The region’s maritime climate is characterized by mildtemperatures, with abundant rainfall and heavy winds during the year. The vineyardshave granite soil with sandy-clay character.
