Pazo Pondal Albariño

Wine Description

Our Premium brand. Grapes selected for Pazo Pondal come from Leira Longa, a lower altitude plot that provides less acidity, more body, and greater concentration in the wines. It is characterised by its shallow, acidic granite soils with a pH of 5.8. It is the only estate using a traditional trellis system, which allows greater aeration of the bunches and protects them from direct sunlight.

It is one of the winery’s oldest plots and its grapes were harvested at optimum maturity on 26 and 27 September. The soils are high in organic matter that compensates for the shallowness of the soil (30-40 cm) and improves the retention of water and nutrients.

Tasting Notes

Complex nose that shows balsamic notes accompanied by white fruits, touches of fine bakery, citrus fruits, always accompanied by flowers. In turn, its minerality joins this symphony of aromas. Wide and dense in the mouth that allows to integrate very well its outstanding acidity, which at the same time gives it good depth, combined with a saline point that marks its personality.
